Anticipated inclement weather has forced the postponement of three days of IndyCar testing at Indianapolis.

Manufacturer, open and Indianapolis 500 rookie orientation/refresher tests on the oval had been scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 through to Thursday, March 29.

But with Firestone minimum operating temperatures set at 50F (10C) for ovals, and expected highs at Indianapolis reaching no further than the low 50s with a strong probability of rain forecast next week, the schedule has now been changed from April 30 until May 2.

The revised testing schedule will see the IndyCar open test run from 10am until noon and 1pm until 5pm on April 30.

The rookie orientation programme for Pietro Fittipaldi, Kyle Kaiser, Matheus Leist and Robert Wickens, will occupy that same earlier slot a day later, and the refresher – featuring Danica Patrick, Sage Karam and Jay Howard – will be held in the afternoon slot.

Manufacturer testing held by Chevrolet and Honda on May 2 is expected to feature drivers from Ed Carpenter Racing (including Danica Patrick), Harding Racing, Carlin Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and AJ Foyt Racing.
