Ex-Formula 1 driver Timo Glock will make a second attempt at the Bathurst 12 Hour GT race with BMW in 2018.

DTM frontrunner Glock and 2016 Spa 24 Hours winner Philipp Eng will join four-time Bathurst 1000 winner Steve Richards in Richards’ BMW factory backed Team SRM entry.

While Eng will be making his Bathurst debut, Glock drove a BMW M6 alongside Mark Skaife, Tony Longhurst, and Russell Ingall in this year’s race.

“You certainly can’t complain when you get a guy who has raced at the highest level and a young star from the factory team to come and drive with you,” Richards told the Bathurst 12 Hour official website.

“BMW are great partners in that when their customers commit to a race like this they open the door to some amazing support and driver talent.

“I’m very pleased to have a DTM winner and Formula 1 driver and a guy who has won the Spa 24 Hour with me.”

Last weekend Porsche announced that it would field factory drivers Romain Dumas, Dirk Werner, and Frederic Makowiecki at Bathurst, which is the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
